His breakthrough came with the film 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), but it was his roles in films like Brokeback Mountain (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008) that truly put him on the world stage. Ledger was known for taking on complex and challenging roles, and his performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight earned him a posthumous Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. He passed away in 2008 at the age of 28 from a drug overdose. His legacy lives on through his iconic performances.
