This portrait of Chris Lowe, musician and co-founder of Pet Shop Boys, is inspired by Eric Watson's photograph of Lowe from 1986.

"Watson worked with Pet Shop Boys from 1984 to 1991, capturing the duo's first portraits and directing several of their music videos. The iconic portrait of Lowe, wearing a pair of Issey Miyake sunglasses, was used on the award-winning 12-inch sleeve for their 1986 single Suburbia", says artist Marcus Larsson.

Chris Lowe, born in Blackpool in 1959, is a musician and co-founder of Pet Shop Boys, alongside Neil Tennant. The duo is the most successful in British pop history, having released a long string of hits, including West End GirlsIt's a SinRentDomino DancingGo West, and Always On My Mind. With over 100 million records sold, they are one of the best-selling groups of all time.
